PicoBoot Install (Panasonic Q)

The PicoBoot can be installed on a Panasonic Q in the same way as a regular GameCube.

Start by flashing the Raspberry Pi Pico with the picoboot.uf2 from here.

Next, strip down the Panasonic Q following the Disassembly guide and get right to inside the GameCube.

Remove the heat sink by removing all 6 screws, then warm up the heat sink with a heat gun first to make it easier to remove. Twist the metal heat sink sideways a few times until it comes loose.

Solder on wires to all of the following points, remembering to bridge the two pins for ground.

Make the wires 6 inches long and bring them out through the metal shield holes in an order you can remember.

With the wires out of the cage, solder them to the pins of the Raspberry Pi.

Finally, make an SD card and place the ipl.dol from Swiss onto the root of the SD card.

Insert the SD card into the bottom slot using a SD2SP2 adapter, or through the memory card slot using a memory card to SD adapter.
