F76 Error (Panasonic Q)

3min

There are many causes of the F76 error. It is apparently related to the power circuit. The system boots up, monitors for various feedback, and turns off if something is wrong.

Instead of posting vague solutions or possible things it might be with no foundation, I figured I would start noting down known, repeatable things that we guarantee do cause the F76 error.

Short On Any Rail

If any of the voltage rails get shorted, the voltage drops, and the main board detects this, and powers back off.

Faulty Power Board

If the main power board that is generating voltages and monitoring for their rise is faulty it can cause the same error.

Fan Connector Feedback

TO CONFIRM MYSELF: A user on our Discord reported that replacing the stock 2-pin fan with a 3-pin fan it caused the F76 error. They originally connected just the red and black (power) wires. And the third PWM pin was floating.

Soldering the PWM pin to VCC (red wire) then made it boot fine.

I personally don't recall the fan being needed to prevent F76 errors, so I will have to re-confirm this with a stock fan to see if I can repeat this. But it is worth noting.
