RCM Backup eMMC (Nintendo Switch)

2min

Once you have Hekate running it is a good time to do a full system backup.

Backup eMMC

Insert the Atmosphere SD card into the console, then inject the hekate.bin payload to start Hekate.

Go to Tools > Backup eMMC then run both eMMC BOOT0 & BOOT1 and eMMC RAW GPP

These files will be in a folder on the SD card called backup. Copy this to a safe place.

Backup Prod Keys

In order to fully restore the console you will need a copy of the production keys.

Inject the lockpin.bin payload or run it from Hekate UI inside the Payloads folder.

Select SysNAND and it will backup the keys to the SD card in /switch/prod.keys

Copy this file to a safe place.

Clone eMMC to SD Card (emuMMC)

emuMMC is basically a clone of the eMMC running on an SD Card. The steps below will copy your eMMC to your SD card.

Inject Hekate and start it. Go to emuMMC menu option.

Select Create emuMMC and then SD Partition then PART 1. This will write it to the eMMC partition of the SD card we made in the Creating SD Card step above.

Now to boot from the SD card version of the firmware go back to the emuMMC menu then select Change emuMMC and then SD RAW 1
