TMSS Blue Splash Screen (Game Gear)

The classic blue PRODUCED BY OR UNDER LICENSE FROM SEGA ENTERPRISES LTD. is controlled by the SEC pin of the ASIC.
If you ground the SEC pin, you will get the splash screen on boot. If you lift/float the pin or pull it to VCC it will disable the splash screen.
The 1-ASIC models are the only ones with the SEC pin. The earlier 2-ASIC didn't have this pin.

There is often a jumper labelled J1 that if soldered sends the SEC pin to ground, disabling the screen.
