Thermals (Dell XPS 2023)
Monitoring thermals is a good way to identify expected operation.
When turning on initially, the first thing you should notice getting warm is the 4 inductors of the GPU (3 in a row and one on its own, near the GPU).
These inductors should get to around 40-50C fairly soon, and up to 65C at max.
The CPU and GPU sit generally around 45C.
If the Laptop decides on boot to enter the BIOS asking about Time-of-day not set. Please run SETUP program. the single GPU inductor seems to shut off and cool down, and the CPU kicks in. While sitting in BIOS the 3 GPU inductors all heat up to 70C if you leave it long enough and so does the CPU. The GPU and single inductor remain cool (30-40C).
At all times if the heat sink is removed from the SSD so you can see it, the SSD sits around 50C near connector side (closest to middle).
Once booted into Windows, the 3 GPU inductors sit around 65C, with CPU and GPU sitting about 10C lower.
As it idles down more, temps drop to around 50C on inductors and 40C on CPU/GPU.
