Diode Readings (GBA SP)
2 min
diode reading involves putting your multimeter into diode mode ââ¯âĸ , placing the red lead on ground, and the black lead on the pin you want to test, with no power applied to the system this sends a small charge through the circuit to ground and resolves it as an accurate low voltage reading, giving a good indication of the circuit's electrical characteristics it is useful for finding potential anomalies in the circuit at specific points this is better than resistance mode as it can break through diodes (very common component internal to ics and logic chips) and give a better full circuit check than plain resistance below are some readings for the agt cpu 01 revision of the gba sp (the later ags 101 version) that has no schematic for it, so diode readings could help find issues in certain areas these diode readings (and some resistor values in case you wanted to check those) were taken by dan at console hospital thanks for sharing
