Create Amiga Floppy Disk On PC
If you want to make a brand new Floppy Disk that can be read by Amiga consoles, you first need a few things:
- USB Floppy Disk Drive that supports DD disks (no way to know, buy a few and test)
- New 2HD Floppy Disks
- Black Electrical Tape
- Windows PC
In order to format the disk as 720K you must first cover the High Density notch in the disk otherwise the drive will know it is HD and not DD and complain.
It must be covered with something that fully blocks light, as most drives use an optical sensor to shine light through the hole.
Be sure to cover the hole on the right, not the left (that is read/write protect).

Connect the USB Floppy Disk drive up to the PC and insert a new 2HD floppy disk.
Open up command prompt and type:
Your floppy disk will be formatted as a 720KB Double Density Floppy Disk ready to be read by an Amiga.
If your USB Floppy Disk Driver does not support 720K mode you will get this error: Parameters not supported by drive. You will need to find another USB drive until you find one that supports 720k.

The benefit of this method is the floppy disk can also be read by the PC also.
Simply copy and paste your game data to the floppy disk now.
