Bypass Power (PC Engine LT)
A common issue with the PC Engine LT is the capacitors near the power regulator leaking and killing the regulator or rotting traces.
A simple test it to bypass all that circuit for a quick test of the health of the console is to provide all parts of the system with the required 5V.
Firstly, bridge the LDO regulators input and output. The input is typically 6.5V from the regulator circuit originally and goes off to other parts of the circuit), and the output is the main 5V.
Bridging them together allows you to power all parts of the system together.
Now, you can provide 5V power to these pins (input/output) and NOT 6.5V or 9V!.
At 5V the LCD will be a little bit noisy with horizontal wave. This is just a good test to see if the system is overall working and ignoring the power regulation circuit.
