Nintendo Game & Watch
Assembly (Nintendo Game & Watch)
3min
A common issue when reassembling the Game & Watch consoles is getting all the layers in order.
Fort those I have not done a specific guide for the order is generally as follows.
From front to back, the order is as follows:
- Polarizer
- Level Design Acetate
- LCD Glass
- Level Design Acetate
- Reflector (Dull side forward)
- The single polarizer with 3 chamfers (square corners) and one fillet (round corner) goes with the fillet corner at the bottom left when looking at the screen face on front.
- The laminate print fits in between the glass layers and can only go in one way when it is assembled into the plastic housing. The open window with the Time in should be at the top right when viewed from the front.
- The other polarizer sits after this printed laminate behind it but still inside the glass layers and can only fit in one way into the plastic ridges.
- The glass has the little hook shape you can see at one of the middle edges going to the right side when viewing the console from the front. Alternatively, just look at the glass in angled light to see the outline of the image and align it with the laminate print that can only fit in one way.
NOTE: The screen will look solid black, and you won't see anything visually on screen until looking through the mirror at a specific angle. Then it should look bright colored screen as light shines through the mirror and lights up the laminate print.
